3. Intellectual Property Office of Papua New Guinea
The IPOPNG is established to ensure that while in the promotion of investment in a friendly regulatory environment, the sovereign interest of Papua New Guinea and its citizens is protected and the interest of the investor or creator of intellectual property is protected from unscrupulous exploitation.
The Office administers the Trade Marks Act, the Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act (2000) and the Patents and Industrial Design Act (2000). It is headed by the Registrar, Intellectual Property Office of PNG.
