Protection of Intellectual Property Rights
The Investment Promotion Authority through the Intellectual Property Office of Papua New Guinea ensures that that while in the promotion of investment in a friendly regulatory environment, the sovereign interest of Papua New Guinea and its citizens is protected and the interest of the investor or creator of intellectual property is protected from unscrupulous exploitation.
The IPOPNG administers the Trade Marks Act, Chapter 385 , Copyright and Neighbouring Rights Act (2000) and the Patents and Industrial Design Act (2000).
