Personal Property Security Registry
The Personal Property Securities Act (PPSA) Registry is an electronic database where creditors can record charges or security interests in movable property that has been created by individual or entity debtors. Where the entity debtor is a company, the PPSA Registry replaces the registration of charges originally required under the Companies Act.
Anyone can search the PPSA Registry for notices of existing charges or security interests in moveable property. However, to record charges or security interests in moveable property, a creditor will need to register and maintain a user acount with the IPA.
All searches, verifications, registrations, amendments and renewals are conducted online through the PPSA Registry website.
