An integral component of the Papua New Guinea Government’s industrial development strategy is the promotion of investment in Papua New Guinea. The Investment Promotion Authority, established by an Act of Parliament in 1992, is responsible for this activity. Its focus is centered on attracting new investors to thecountry as well as encouraging existing investors, both foreign and domestic, to expand their investment.
Papua New Guinea, located on the eastern half of the island of New Guinea and 160 kilometers north of Australia, is rich in natural resources. Ranging from oil, gas and gold to fish, forests, coffee and spices, and much, much more, there is great investment potential.
Papua New Guinea comprises both the mainland and some 600 offshore islands and has a total land area of 470,000 square kilometers. PNG’s population currently stands at 5.1 million people with around 15 percent of the population living in the 10 major urban areas.
PNG has a moderate tropical climate with high levels of seasonal rainfall.
The Investment Promotion Authority wishes to advise its valued clients and the general public that the organization will be undergoing an office relocation exercise to its new office at Lawes Road, Konedobu at the end of May 2010.
This is to consolidate all our services in one location for the benefit of our valued customers.During this period, clients should expect a minimized level of service, as each respective office prepare to relocate.
We have taken steps to ensure that the exercise does not disrupt vital services delivered from the 4th Floor, Monian Tower, and such other services such as registry, lodgments including foreign certification and intellectual property services are maintained during this transition period.
However, certain functions such as facilitation and promotion may be scaled down.

The Rubber Plantation has a land area of 316.059 hectares of which 80 plus hectares are planted with matured rubber trees. The plantation is located on portion 392 of Abau Milinch, Domara, and Cape Rodney, in the land is an Agriculture Lease area of which the title is held by the Abau Family through their company, Lahara Plantation Limited. The company is seeking a development partner to partner on a joint venture basis to revive, expand and manage the plantation and market rubber.
Code 290 - The Bechdemer Project was initiated by a local businessman through his company "U75 Exports Ltd" and his interest is in buying locally and exporting bechdemer to china, the larget market for bechdemer.

Code 266 - The purpose of the project is to develop large scale commercial tiger prawn farming for processing to export to the Asian market, especially the Japanese market.
The proposal aims to secure a potential financier or a Joint-venture Partner to assist the company to establish capital works to commence operations. The Milne Bay Shrimp Farm Limited is aiming to secure US$20 million from the potential Joint Venture Partner company to assist establish the commencement of the project.
